Although PTYM did not have a running track, Aberavon RFC was keen for the club to use their Talbot Athletic ground for training and competition. It was a tribute to the organisational skills of PTYM Harriers when they were given the honour of hosting the WAAA Senior Championships at the Talbot Athletic on 19th June, 1948.
There were two highlights for PTYMCA Harriers in the 1940s. Despite the war effort, a new YMCA building was opened in Talbot Road on 6th April, 1940. The estimated total cost for the multipurpose building, which included a gym, was £9500.
