With all championship races in both multisport and running complete, and the results being processed, winter means one thing… XC season is fully here!
Gwent XC at Blaise Castle
Round 2 of the John H Collins Gwent XC League took place in Blaise Castle in Bristol. We had 15 runners taking part including club legend Ian Swanson who continues his incredible consecutive streak for over 30 years!
Our athletes had the weather on their side and were able to put in fantastic performances. Our presence in the Gwent league is growing with every year. Runners were even treated to the film set of The Winter King which is currently being filmed on the Blaise estate for Cardiff production company BadWolf. It’s not everyday you run past King Arthur’s castle during an XC run!
Triathlon Ireland Annual Awards
Our triathlete Ross Hamilton attended the Triathlon Ireland Annual Awards and took home multiple medals and trophies, also being crowned the National Aquabike Champion. A huge achievement, congratulations Ross!
Racing Around Alton Towers
Cathryn Williams and Jordan Lane went to Alton Towers to compete in one of the many race distances they held this weekend and Cath came a magnificent 5th in the 5k race. Runners enjoyed the theme park all to themselves following the races!
Cardiff Trail Half Marathon
Tough Runner lived up to its name with a challenging yet scenic trail at the Cardiff Trail Half Marathon, it did exactly what it said on the tin! A gruelling course at Forest Fawr which tried to distract you on how tough it was with some beautiful South Wales scenery.
Joe O’Shea, Ben Hughes, Peter Richards, Garry Evans and Gareth Evans were treated to some epic views on top of the Craig yr Allt mountain. Joe finished 6th place overall, an incredible position for such a brutal course!
Friendly Rounders Tournament Between Clubs
Saturday saw the ladies of PTH go head to head with our friends at SVT, Celtic Tri and TRH. Everyone had a great afternoon playing rounders on the Swansea beachfront, all while raising funds for charity. Well done ladies!
Parkrun Momentum Continues
Some Parkrun tourism both local and far continues! Swansea, Gnoll, Porthcawl and Maesteg all having some Team PTH magic!
