This weekend we swam, we cycled, we ran and we celebrated our 2021 winners along with a fantastic winter social event.
Welsh Inter Regional Cross Country Championships 2022
We had an incredible 17 Team PTH athletes selected for the West Wales team and we could not be prouder of you all. The event took place on Saturday 19th November at Monmouth Showground, where the weather conditions were perfect as was the course.
Congratulations to Claire Walters (MW35) and Sam Healy (MW45) who took home bronze medals and Adrian Weaver (MM45) who took home a silver medal.
Sospan Road Runners MT10
5 PTH runners (Jamie Lewis, Ben Hughes, Michael Launder, Evan Smith and Gareth Evans) took on the picturesque multi-terrain 10 mile race at Pembrey Country Park, hosted by Sospan Road Runners.
Despite the rain and wind taking over just before the race start, thankfully the sun came out and the rain held off during the challenging course with woodland trails, hills, mud, sand dunes, beach and a little tarmac!
Parkrun Success Continues
The weekend also saw more Parkrun success both local and afar! Swansea Bay, Gnoll, Brynamman and Maesteg all getting some Team PTH magic!
- Darren Lewis finished 1st Place at Maesteg Parkrun
- Heidi Waters finished 1st female and 5th overall at Gnoll Parkrun
- Roger Jones finished 3rd Place at Gnoll Parkrun
Reminder: This week (starting Monday 21st November) is your LAST week to take part in a Parkrun for the Club Championship 2022. The Parkrun’s included in this year’s championship are Gnoll, Swansea Bay, Porthcawl and Maesteg.
Winter Social Night / 2021 Presentation Awards
Saturday evening our members packed out the local Ynys Park Football Club in Cwmavon for a Winter Social Party. The night saw our 2021 running Club Championship winners awarded and celebrated due to our 2021 presentation evening being postponed due to covid safety. There were no multisport awards due to the lack of races in 2021.
We enjoyed a musical treat with band Polar Berries performing an amazing set with our vast range of athletes showing how good their dance moves are! Our annual presentation evening will return on Wednesday 28th December at Blancos where we will celebrate a full year of normality in racing and will see club championship awards given out for both running and multisport.
